Clean, then soak the beans for 2 hours
Place the Instant Pot in "sear" mode
Brown the onions and chorizo in the pan. Normally, the Chorizo will provide enough grease. If not, you may need to add a TB or so of oil.
Add the garlic near the end of the browning.
When chorizo and onions are ready, add 1 cup of water, the contents of the onion soup package, the cumin, the chili powder, and the salt.
When the soup has been dissolved, add 4 more cups of water and the beans.
Put Instant Pot on bean/chili setting and set for 50 minutes (make sure pressure level is set to hold pressure).
Let the pressure drop naturally at the end of the cooking time.
